Accurate, Reliable, Real-time Monitoring of Free and Total Ammonia
The Q46N Dissolved Ammonia Monitor provides accurate, real-time monitoring of Free and Total Ammonia for a variety of applications including potable water and wastewater effluent.
Continuous water quality monitoring of Ammonia is becoming increasingly important for plant operations and process control.
Many online Ammonia monitors are expensive, complex, and labor intensive and most are automated versions of ammonia selective ion electrodes methods, better suited to laboratory measurements. Others are automated colorimetric devices or instrumental methods that are difficult to justify on a cost basis.
However, we developed a completely new approach to online monitoring of Ammonia that is far less expensive and simpler than more conventional monitoring equipment. The Q46N Dissolved Ammonia Monitor uses reaction chemistry that converts Ammonia in solution to a stable monochloramine compound equivalent in concentration to the original Ammonia level. The chloramine concentration is then measured with a unique amperometric sensor that responds linearly to chloramines while eliminating interference from excess free chlorine in the solution.

Improve Performance and Reduce Maintenance Costs
The Q46D Dissolved Oxygen Monitor is a versatile on-line monitoring system designed for the continuous measurement of dissolved oxygen (DO) in solution. Two types of sensing technologies are available for use with the Q46D system: Membraned Electrochemical and Optical (fluorescence). Both sensors will provide reliable long-term performance with minimal maintenance.
Dissolved Oxygen water quality monitoring is critical for aeration system process control.
Optimization of the biological process, whether it’s removal of organic material, nitrification, or nitrification/denitrification, depends on maintaining proper DO levels. Controlling air flow to within the optimal range eliminates excess aeration, which translates into significant energy savings.
The Q46D Dissolved Oxygen Monitor is designed to provide reliable oxygen measurement and help reduce operating costs. Two types of sensing technologies are available for use with the Q46D system: Membraned Electrochemical and Optical (fluorescence). Both sensors will provide reliable long-term performance with minimal maintenance. No hardware modifications are required to change from one sensor type to the other. The monitor can be configured for AC or DC power supplies, and a portable battery-powered unit is available to meet a variety of monitoring needs. When process conditions require frequent sensor cleaning, our unique Q-Blast Auto-Cleaner can be used to keep the system operating nearly maintenance-free. This time-proven system has been instrumental in providing years of worry-free operation.

Continuous Water Quality Monitoring of pH
The Q46P pH water quality monitor provides the durability, accuracy and versatility required for pH monitoring or control applications.
The versatile Q46P/R system monitors the Potential of Hydrogen (pH) and Oxidation Reduction
Potential (ORP). The differential pH/ORP sensors make use of a sealed reference system – a second glass pH electrode – to help prevent the destruction of the sensor, from chemical poisons including sulfide, cyanide, chlorine and bisulfite.
Within the sensor, the integral preamplifier creates a low-impedance signal output. This helps to provide consistent readings in all environments, maximizing the distance between the sensor and analyzer.
The addition of our Q-Blast option provides the ideal answer for automatic pH or ORP sensor cleaning. Employing a unique’air-blast’ cleaning method, sensors can be cleaned as often as necessary without operator attention.
